Hats off to our members!

St. Tammany is a special place! It is known for its natural beauty. Even more importantly, it is known for its commitment to education and to children.

The St. Tammany Public Library is one of the treasures supporting our parishes’ mission. The library offers outstanding workshops, fun adventures, and creative programs throughout the year for children and teenagers. And the St. Tammany Library offers numerous classes that continues the education of all in our community in many areas – dance, music, books and authors, computer skills, business support, art…

Members of the St. Tammany Library Foundation are special people. They support the library in many ways.

And many of our members are notable in many areas. Just glance down this recent list to see whom we commend.

Marie Louise Guste Nix – who recently published another book of poetry, Being There: Reflections from the Scenes of the Mysteries of the Rosary – her fifth;

Pamela Binnings Ewen – who has published six books , her latest being An Accidental Life;

Chatwick Hall – an author whose first novel just recently was published Water Lessons;

Deborah Burst – whose works include Louisiana’s Sacred Places and  Greater New Orleans: Historic Churches, Cathedrals and Sanctuaries;

Sandra Scalese Juneau – whose article in Inside Northshore on the Madisonville Lighthouse is making waves;

Renate Hardwick – who writes under the name of Andrea Ritter, Sunflower of the Third Reich.

Carrie Lee Schwartz – whose her deep magenta red cultivar, the Vogthorstar, has recently been registered by the American Camellia Society.

Check out the book titles in the Library catalogue. Most are there, and if not, make a request to have them added! And before they are on our shelves, request them from an interlibrary loan. You can get any book you want from our library through this service very quickly.

We’d love to brag about our members. Send news of your creative endeavors to mor3arg@gmail.com and you’ll be in our newsletters.

You’ll get a chance to chat with these and many others at our annual meeting on March 24 in Madisonville and our social that follows - “Sipping Through the Stacks. ” We'd love to see you there!
