FAREWELL, SWEET ROSE

The Board of Directors of the St. Tammany Library Foundation is mourning the death of one of its founding members – Rose Marie Manchon.

Rose joined the Board at its first reorganization. She brought to it her passion for community service. No matter how small or large the job, Rose did it with gracefulness and aplomb. She shared her talents, which were many, as well as her time. Rose wrote the St. Tammany Library Foundation’s first funded grant. She was ever ready to assume any responsibility that would serve the St. Tammany Library, its patrons and the wider community.

Rose received her MSN from LSU Medical School and held many important community nursing positions. She served as the Director of East Jefferson Hospital’s Elder Advantage Program. In St. Tammany she worked to establish the parish’s first hospice program. In Tucson she held leadership positions in community health outreach programs throughout Arizona and served on many a Board. Generous with her talents and her time, loving to all she encountered, Rose will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.

Vade in pace, Rose. We are forever grateful.
