The present officers were re-elected to complete their two year term.

Officer reports were given and the President presented a list of achievements that the Foundation accomplished in 1912-1913.  These included updates on our website, numerous blogs under news, a greater presence on Facebook, Email Newsletters, and the opening of our new Madisonville Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library.

The Baker and Taylor Award, one of only three national awards by the American Library Association, was celebrated.  Rose Manchon was applauded for her work on obtaining the Baker and Taylor Award for the Foundation.

Everyone was delighted to hear the news that the construction work has begun on the Walker Percy Serenity Circle and a sculptor has been selected.  Bill Binnings, who was awarded the commission after a competitive process, displayed photos of his work and also a sketch of the sculpture he intended for
a bench in the circle.

Here is the sketch of Walker with his Gorgi "Sweet Thing" that will be sitting on a bench in the circle.

Now let's get started selling the pavers that will finance the beautiful sculpture by our award-winning artist, Bill Binnings.
