LOUISIANA BOOK FESTIVAL THIS COMING SATURDAY!
Downtown Baton Rouge is the place to be this Saturday. The acclaimed Louisiana Book Festival 2013 will be spread throughout downtown Baton Rouge. It's free! It's exhilarating! It's fun!
The festival takes places at the State Library of Louisiana, the State Capitol, the Capitol Park Museum and the Capitol Park Museum. Spread across the green space in front of the Capitol will be artists and writers, tables and books, books, books.
The festival will feature outstanding writers and artists - Duck Dynasty's Alan Robertson, Wally Lamb,
Rod Dreher, author of the warmly received Little Way of Ruthie Leming, the actor Louis Gosset, and many of Louisiana's own, among whom are Christine Wiltz, Ernest Gaines, Pamela Ewen, Christina Vella, George Rodrique, Shirley Ann Grau, Tim Gautreaux and the Louisiana 2012 Writer's recipient, .John Biguenet.
The Book Festival has something for everyone - children, teens, adults. Music lovers will dance away to the rhythms of great bands. Music lovers will especially crowd the sessions on Rock and RollArt lovers will be treated to an exhibit and a talk by George Rodrique and sessions on art. Food is available and cook books on great Louisiana dishes will abound. Tiger fans will be treated to a special session
Come and have a chance to meet, to converse, to think with creative artists and writers and to talk with book lovers coming from all over the state.
